I recently got a call from a client who was interested in taking lessons from a prominent guru in the community to become an instructor of that particular guru's company. I have seen and heard of others doing this same thing in the past. I do not want to list names because an overwhelming amount of guys in the community do this scam to people.

IF SOMEONE EVER TELLS YOU THAT YOU HAVE TO PAY TO BE TRAINED, IT IS A SCAM!!!

Do not fall for this trap. Many companies and gurus out there will offer a program for prospective instructors. They lure you into an "intensive training program" designed to "turn you into an instructor for the company." It will usually be some ridiculous amount of money, usually in the thousands, and they promise you a chance to become an instructor for the company.

Here's the greatest part of the scam though. In the fine print of the contract you will have to sign, you allow them to reserve the right to hire you or not. IT'S NOT EVEN GUARANTEED. And worst of all, if you don't get the job, there is a NON-COMPETE AGREEMENT losing your ability to apply for other instructor jobs for other PUA companies.

This scam is prominent in many other industries. The biggest scam in the modeling and acting world is the agency that charges you a "training fee" "headshot fee" and monthly subscription to their data base of talent so you can be hired. Agencies are only supposed to be paid when you get paid and these companies have no incentive to find you work since they make a killing on sign up and subscription fees.

The way it is supposed to work is this: You never pay a cent for your training. It is either free or you are paid for training. And you are automatically hired BEFORE training even begins. The way I do it with my company is, I interview and psychologically screen my prospective employees. If they pass these initial tests, I have them sign a contract and I hire them. Their training is unpaid up until the point that they can teach WITH supervision. They are then paid for training until they can teach competently WITHOUT supervision. At that point, they become full instructors to the company.

I never require cash up front, and I guarantee the job before training even begins.

Please, be wary of scams like this. It could destroy your career as a boot camp instructor and/or lose a lot of money in the hopes of becoming one.

Mystery tried to nab me on this one when I ran into him at Les Deux one night. I flat-out called him on what bullshit that was and he was literally taken aback. Apparantly, they were (or maybe, still are) designing a program just like you described.

I love the dude, and we have a great time when we go out, but that shit is so worthless and sketchy.

Ooops.. did I mention names? Wink

I too have a love/hate relationship with that guy as well man. I hate it when he does that shit cause every PUA on Earth owes mad props to him. But that doesn't mean he can cut our arms off. The guy I was referring to in my post was actually not him, but used to work for him.

Since you mentioned the word ''sketchy''...I've sometimes wondered if any of the club footage that mystery has out on youtube is real..you know..the ones where he approaches a group..then the girl follows him to the bar.

He has pictures with many girls..but c'mon, any guy can do that.

Could some of these ''models'' be payed to participate in his so called ''pick-up''..It might all just be an ''illusion'' to make people believe
his product works.

I'm not saying his material hasn't brought me results. It is great, but does he really get that many girls.

You know what? Whether the footage is real or not, you can learn a lot from it. I also don't care one bit if he hasn't had sex in 6 years because his material worked for me, so I don't question his knowledge and authority. I only question his ethics.
